In the year 2013, Maria Belen Ortega, at only 24 years old, made a brave decision that would mark a before and after in his life and in the lives of many others. The motivation behind her venture was a close and personal testimony: His mother, with more than 50 years and decades of experience as a board secretary at a major Bank, faced the discouraging reality of not being able to re-enter the labor market due to her age.
This challenge led Belén to found “Asistente Online,” an agency and academy for virtual assistants that operate around the world. The company is based on three fundamental pillars:
● Labor Reintegration: Its mission is to open the doors of the labor market to people over 40 years of age and those with disabilities, providing them with employment opportunities from the comfort of their homes.
● Business Optimization: They help entrepreneurs, SMEs and businessmen save time and money by delegating tasks, significantly improving their quality of life.
● Official Training: In response to the 2020 pandemic, Belén founded the “Official Online Assistant Training,” with the goal of forming work teams and providing others with the same opportunity that she had to work with clients in Argentina and abroad.
María Belén Ortega’s hard work did not go unnoticed. In 2022, she received the prestigious “Businesswoman of the Year” Award in the “Technological Woman” category, just like him “We are SMEs” Award in the category “Inclusion.” In addition, he was a finalist for the award given by the Argentine Confederation of Medium Enterprises (CAME) in the “Inclusion” category.
In 2023, María Belén decided to take her vision one step further by partnering with Daniela Chaubell and Jessica Pudiza. Daniela, specialized in sales and effective communication with more than 10 years of experience, is in charge of human resources, while Jessica, an expert in digital sales and customs broker, focuses on customer experience. With this union, they created an innovative agency model that includes assistants, support and a strategic role for each of the partners.
Since 2020, Virtual Assistant services have been successfully exported to Mexico, Puerto Rico, Chile, and are in the process of expanding to Spain. The Online Assistant academy has students in Uruguay, Chile, Peru, Mexico, Spain, Australia, Dubai and other Spanish-speaking markets.
María Belén Ortega and her team are demonstrating that technology and inclusion can be powerful tools to transform lives and change the way companies operate in today’s world. Her story is an inspiring testimony of how an entrepreneurial spirit can create a positive impact on society and business.
