The last song on GLITCH PRINCESS is almost 203 minutes (no, no typo!) long and every single one of them is worth it. The exuberant, mostly layered ambient piece also encapsulates Yeule’s philosophy: Singapore-born, London-based Nat Ćmiel’s songs are maximalist and intimate at the same time. The fourth album of the project sounds like a good 200 open browser tabs and yet not exaggerated hyperpop, but
rather after concise self-expression.

From the spoken-word intro “My Name Is Nat Ćmiel” to dream-pop ballads like “Electric” or the trip-hop-inspired “Flowers Are Dead” to beat-driven experiments like “Perfect Blue” with a guest feature by rapper Tohji or “Too Dead Inside” GLITCH PRINCESS is one big private space, a door into the upper room of one of the most exciting figures in the field of alternative pop of this time. And when even the acoustic guitar is brought out, it actually sounds like what everyone expected from the last Grimes album and yet didn’t get served.
