An album with 22 tracks – at least excessive, maybe even crazy. Add to that this title, TYPICAL MUSIC?
Nothing is typical here. Songs with several melodies per second and breathtaking jumps, fantasies of revenge and self-deprecating games with one’s own vanity. In the middle is a song entitled “When I See You”, Tim Burgess starts by telling the story of the song, refers to the Sparks and then plays a song that with its tricky romance is also part of the 69 LOVE SONGS of the Magnetic Fields could have been.

Part of the recording team was the experimental artist Thighpaulsandra, who brought his unusual perspective on pop music to the table as a member of the electronica avant-garde Coil and collaborating partner of Spiritualized and Julian Cope. Together with Tim Burgess he developed this insane pop panorama: Theoretically, the material could have been reduced to twelve songs, but in the end one is happy about this mass, because it ensures that one completely loses one’s orientation in the chaos of the hooks: Lost in TYPCIAL MUSIC.
