Power pop songs like “Really, Really Light” or “Angelcover” are reminiscent of Weezer without a major label contract, calmly flowing songs like “Fireworks In The Falling Snow” exude the warmth of a fireplace, the psych-folk piece “sung by Neko Case” Marie And The Undersea” integrates a great saxophone. You like to listen, but because of the elusive identity of the New Pornographers, you end up being more of a guest than a fan.
