The fact that Thom Yorke and, at some distance, Jonny Greenwood, have taken the sun in terms of popularity among Radiohead musicians is also thanks to their involvement in ambitious projects and bands such as Gorillaz or The Smile in recent years. Radiohead drummer Philip Selway has released a little under the radar compared to his bandmates, boasting two solo albums in 2010 and 2014.

With STRANGE DANCE, number three now follows: a collection of mostly melancholic soft pop songs that melt like ice cream on the tongue, accompanied by Selway himself with a gentle voice. Piano, keyboards, strings, horns, smaller electronic inlays – this music largely refers to the good British songbook, and when Selway then whispers through the slightly spooky title track in a whisper, it’s something of a fine extra made song album. And with “Picking Up The Pieces” he has also managed to create an ambitious catchy tune with a strong sound. It’s off!
