Review: Mehnersmoos :: Sexy

Everything flows on SEXY. Beer flows, semen spills, and the insults and disparagements come pouring out anyway. “You are the answer to the question: Who is a stupid, ass-fucked, pissed-off freak” – that’s how it goes all the time at Mehnersmoos, and especially the mothers get it, they get fucked in all imaginable ways, and on all unimaginable anyway. Yes, you guessed right: We are in the comedy rap genre in the tradition of KIZ, whose Nico consequently also makes a guest appearance here.

Mehnersmoos drop intricate rhymes, skilfully satirize – and above all are really funny

Of course, the “Zwei Idioten Mit Nem Wicküler” (song title and self-definition) from Frankfurt am Main wouldn’t need any support at all, they’re the biggest and the horniest anyway, and not only have the longest, but also the thickest account with “more toads than a pond within.”

With their second album, Mehnersmoos don’t add anything significantly new to the basics that defined KIZ: the principle of battle rap is escalated to such an extent that its ritualized sexism is revealed, but the hip-hop idea of non-violent competition with words is still there revived and injected fit for survival with a proper self-mockery. And in this battle, Mehnersmoos are among the best, drop intricate rhymes, skilfully satirize the different rap styles – and above all they are really funny.
