The boundaries between humans and machines blur on the way to the dark disco.
Actually, she was already miles away from the techno, on her last, more or less trendy album Renegade Breakdown (2020), a cooperation with the producer Asaël Robitaille and her husband Pierre Guérineau. Under their influence, an album was created, which leads to the darkness with techno, industrial and synth pop. Violent beats gallop more with strength than with elegance by City of Clowns, accompanied by Davidsons after nasty children’s rhymes of sounding singing. In terms of content, it is about changing our species by Big Tech, and so Davidson lets her vote in the album opener “Validations Weight” by Amazon’s text-to-speech tool Polly.
From now on she shifts the boundaries between man and machine: “Wait Until We verify, you are not a robot,” she explains in “Push me fuckhead” with claustrophobic Atari techno, meanwhile we end up in “Statistical Modeling” on Bambaatas/power plant “Planet Rock”, which will be circulated towards the end of an acid sitel-atellite.
