Borussia Dortmund has apparently put out feelers for the next top talent. A Greek offensive jewel should be at the top of BVB’s shopping list.
According to a report in the Greek “Gazetta”, Ioannis Konstantelias from PAOK Saloniki has gotten on Borussia Dortmund’s radar.
BVB have scrutinized the 20-year-old offensive player, who can be used both on the ten and on the left wing, several times via video study and most recently on site in the playoff game against AEK Athens (0: 1) on site taken, they say.
Apparently they liked what the Dortmund scouts saw: According to the report, Konstantelias is now number one on a list of talents from all over the world that BVB wants to sign in the coming transfer periods.
However, the black and yellow at Konstantelias are not unrivaled – on the contrary: Even with clubs from England, including FC Arsenal, and Italy, the young hope should have made it prominently into the notebooks.
Big competition for BVB?
According to the Greek media, Red Bull Salzburg, also one of the top contact points for talents in Europe, has already turned down an offer of ten million euros to PAOK – the club from the port city is said to have asked for twice the amount.
PAOK owner Ivan Savvidis himself is said to have said in the meantime that Konstantelias would not accept the first offer that came his way.
The market value of the courted youngster is currently estimated at a manageable four million euros. That amount could rise significantly in the near future, especially as Konstantelias most recently made his debut for Greece’s senior squad under former Uruguayan Premier League star Gustavo Poyet.
With a view to the coming season, no new signing has been officially confirmed at BVB. Borussia Mönchengladbach’s Ramy Bensebaini’s move to Dortmund is reportedly perfect.
