Returning home: ex-Leverkusener Yurchenko moves from Riga to Poltava

To Coach Skrypnyk

Former Leverkusen player Vladen Yurchenko (28) is drawn back to his native Ukraine to Vorskla Poltava. The club, where former Bremen player Viktor Skrypnyk works as a coach, announced on Wednesday that the attacking midfielder has signed a three-year contract. Yurchenko joins from FC Riga, where he made two appearances in the new season before leaving the squad in mid-July.

Yurchenko only moved to Latvia in January. For him, Poltava is the fourth professional station in Ukraine, where he has already played for FK Mariupol (formerly Illichivets), Desna Chernigiv and Zorya Lugansk. With 68 games, he made the most of his career for the latter club.
