More than ten years ago, the two-time junior world champion Cheyenne Loch was a celebrated talent among the raceboarders of Snowboard Germany. The woman from Schliersee was also able to carve onto the podium among the pros in the World Cup.

But a year and a half ago she had to unbuckle the board and end her career plagued by injury – now the 28-year-old is back. “It’s really nice to be back. It feels like I wasn’t gone at all,” said Loch in the BR24 Sport interview.

Overall World Cup winner Ramona Hofmeister is happy that Loch is back: “She is such a cheerful person and an incredibly likeable person.”

So far she has not been able to win

Two cruciate ligament ruptures, ankle surgery – the pain often drove with it and yet Loch kept racing onto the podium, but never to victory. “The theme of winning has always been a big one for me and you wonder why: If it’s enough for second place, it should actually be enough for first place in terms of skills.” Loch has worked on himself mentally, is pain-free and has one goal: the World Cup in Georgia.
