For Mick Schumacher, the dream of Formula 1 seemed to be finally dreamed of. But suddenly the German can give hope again.

Mick Schumacher has reason to be happy again: In the long-distance world championship, the 26-year-old German was able to control his alpine car with his teammates Jules Gounon and Frederic Makowiecki twice in a row at the races in the Italian Imola and in the Belgian spa.

After two less successful years 2021 and 2022 in Formula 1 and his subsequent exhaust at the Haas racing team, Schumacher finally writes positive sporty headlines again-and although the door finally seemed to be finally closed, its real dream of Formula 1 could suddenly come true.

Schumacher’s relationship with the premier class of motorsport has so far been more mixed. So far, the sprout of record world champion Michael Schumacher has had very fundamental problems. In Formula 1 there are only ten teams and therefore only 20 cockpits for a driver’s pool that is expanding every year with new, promising young talents.

Accordingly, the drivers only have little time to demonstrate their skills. Do not deliver good results immediately, the next talent is quickly ready to make the place in dispute.

Schumacher’s life was still made more difficult by the fact that his Haas team made the worst car by far during his time in the racing series. Seting highlights became a Herculean task. His Formula 1 adventure at the US racing team ended quickly.

After that, Schumacher was repeatedly acted with individual teams, but ultimately ignored in favor of other young and even “unused” drivers without Formula 1 experience.

Schumacher was looking for other ways

Schumacher looked for other ways to gain further experience in racing and recommend it to return to Formula 1. For two seasons, he became test and replacement drivers at Mercedes, and now also runs his second season in the long-distance world championship.

For his buddy, the four -time world champion Sebastian Vettel, it is clear that Schumacher has developed significantly after his end in the premier class. For Vettel, he is now in “a completely different phase of his career” due to the experience gained.

“He is much more mature,” says Vettel. “And I believe that he does a very good job at Alpine in the long -distance world championship.” The recommendation letter has now also arrived at Cadillac. The US brand will be in Formula 1 as an eleventh team in the coming season and thus expand the racing series by two cockpits. You also came across Schumacher in search of drivers.

As part of the Formula 1 race in Miami, Schumacher was invited to an event of the Cadillac team, spoke to the team officials. A clear indication of the interest of the racing team. Sky commentator Sascha Roos also said last: “I know that he is on the list at Cadillac” and emphasized: “Mick Schumacher is of course always an issue for a team like Cadillac.”

Schumacher has now even got additional help to return to Formula 1. In addition to his long -time manager Sabine Kehm, he will now also advise Dirk Müller – a man who is said to have excellent relationships in the USA.

The fact that Schumacher can now have hopes for the Cadillac cockpit is a bit surprising. At first it was reported that the racing team should have clear guidelines for the obligation of drivers. A place should therefore go to an older, very experienced pilot. As far as this post is concerned, Cadillac is said to have even agreed with ex-Red bullot pilot Sergio Pérez.
