Goalkeeper icon Dominik Hasek has been criticizing the NHL and Russian players in strong terms since Russia started a war of aggression in Ukraine in February 2022.

– I suggested Hasek to return the money he earned in Russia. Apparently, he plans to enter politics. Easy points are collected there with such tricks, Fetisov said.
Hasek has demanded, among other things, the NHL to throw Russian players out of the series.
– If you are cool, then return the money you earned from us. They are partly Russian taxpayers’ money. Return them and then make political demands, Fetisov continued
Hasek knocked out Fetisov’s request.
– I got the money from my work. I don’t owe the club anything, and they don’t owe me anything. No official or politician warned me about Russia’s illegalities, Hasek replied.
The man ended his handsome playing career at the age of 46 in Spartak Moscow. He is the oldest goalkeeper in KHL history. Hasek played 46 games in his last season. His save percentage was 91.5 and the goals allowed average was 2.48.
In his career, Hasek won, among other things, two Stanley Cups and one Olympic gold. He won the Vezina Trophy, given to the NHL’s best goaltender, six times.
