Welcome back to the Tenenbaums! Lacoste is collaborating with Gwyneth Paltrow’s company Goop, the French fashion brand announced on Friday. The two brands pay tribute to one of the actress’ most iconic roles: Margot Tenenbaum.
The retro-inspired collection, combed through the Lacoste archive, consists of twelve pieces. Among them is a new version of the striped polo dress worn by Paltrow as Margot Tenenbaum in the Wes Anderson film The Royal Tenenbaums. Other designs in the collection evoke the preppy style of sportswear and tenniswear, such as a short white skirt with black accents, a knitted pair of shorts and matching polo shirt, and a navy blue puff sleeve jumpsuit. In terms of color, the collaboration relies on cream and navy tones, which are freshened up with colorful stripes and checked patterns.
The aesthetic of the campaign, shot by photographer Osma Harvilahti, emphasizes the retro elements of the collection and picks up on stylistic elements of the 2001 Wes Anderson film.
The “Goop x Lacoste Collection” is available in the online shops of the two brands, in Goop stores and hotels, as well as in the flagship stores of the French fashion label. The collection is priced at €150 for a long-sleeved turtleneck t-shirt and €450 for the navy blue jumpsuit.
