A class from the Emil Molt School goes on a sailing trip towards the Canary Islands. Lessons should take place on the deck of the ship instead of in the classroom. A comment from BZ reporter Sara Orlos Fernandes.

Months of isolation, restrictions and homeschooling – young people have suffered particularly during the corona pandemic. The fact that the school gives them back a bit of freedom with a sailing adventure is commendable.

The project, in which the classroom is brought onto the sailing boat, makes the school concept reconsider. The Corona period in particular has shown that school does not necessarily have to take place in the classroom. The practical part is often neglected here anyway.

Perhaps the great pilot project can convince the Senate in the future to make more funds available for school trips and extracurricular learning projects. It would at least be a satisfaction for the youth lost due to the pandemic.
