84 percent of the participants agree with the Statement of the Day: Students who fell under the loan system deserve generous compensation.
So yes, students who fell under the loan system should be generously compensated. That is the view of a large majority of participants in the Statement of the Day.
How much compensation exactly? “At least 12 months x 3 years x 300 euros basic grant = 14,400 euros”, someone calculates. “This amount should be waived.”
“The same as their predecessors and future students receive,” says another. “There is inequality if students of the student loan system do not get the same.”
‘Youth is the future’
Many people are concerned about the future of these students. “They always say: youth is the future. This absolutely does not apply to those who fall/were covered by the loan system. They have huge debts and no chance to buy a house in this expensive time!”
“It is bizarre that we as a country put a very large group of young people at a great disadvantage in society, just because they fell under the loan system,” said one. “And I also include those who have tried to keep debt as low as possible by working a lot and have had a lot of stress because of this and have barely been able to enjoy their student days.”
“Too crazy for words that these students are victims of the wrong cabinet,” someone says. “It would help enormously if this debt did not count towards applying for a mortgage,” says someone else.
‘More money, more parties’
The disagree-voters (16 percent) don’t like students very much and believe that they are knowingly going into debt: “More money to students means even more parties, even more nuisance.”
