Almost all canteens and café lounges at the Kiel, Flensburg, Lübeck and Heide locations will close their doors from Monday, December 13, 2021. The cafeterias will continue to be open to guests until Friday, December 17th – albeit with reduced opening hours. After the Christmas break, the cafeterias will start again on January 10, 2022 and the canteens and café lounges on January 17. Due to the early closure of the canteen, the traditional Christmas meal originally planned for December 15th has to be cancelled. “We very much regret this,” explains university catering manager Torsten Schmidt. “We would have liked to have continued operations until Christmas. Unfortunately, despite increased security through the 2G rule, we have no other option due to the declining presence on campus, also from an economic point of view.” The Christmas offerings in the canteens planned for December 3rd and 9th will remain in place.
TH Lübeck has explored alternative and supplementary options near the campus to support the care of students and employees. We have compiled these in the following list. These also include offers with seats, so that you can also arrange to have lunch together outside of the canteen. The respective menus can be found on the websites of the restaurants and are linked in the list. The exception is the AWO district cafe: if you want to order food in the AWO cafe, you have to register your wishes for the following week by Thursday of the current week. The current menu is also linked in the table.
