Restoration of the interior of the Provincial Court starts
Since 2020, the Provincial Court has been undergoing a thorough restoration, renovation and refurbishment. At the beginning of this year, the works on the outer shell of the building were completed. The building is being prepared during the interior restoration to become accessible to the public. For example, accessibility is improved thanks to three new lifts. In addition, energy-efficient lighting is provided for the chandeliers and wall fixtures.
In addition, painting is being carried out and the furniture is being restored. There will also be two new sanitary blocks and the realization of a furniture depot in the attic. Fire safety is being tackled thoroughly. A construction zone is planned at the front of the Provincial Court. Over a length of 52 metres, signs will provide information about the works, the history and the future of the building. The works will last until 2024.
