Legendary British manager Sam Allardyce has signed a comprehensive contract with Leeds for the rest of the season, says The Times magazine.
According to the magazine, the 68-year-old conker receives a basic salary of 500,000 pounds for his less than a month’s work. In addition, he has been promised more than 2.5 million pounds in bonuses for keeping his place in the series.
Leeds is currently in last place in the relegation zone thanks to goal difference. The team has four matches to play. The final schedule is not easy, as Leeds will face Manchester City, Newcastle, West Ham and Tottenham.
According to The Times, “Big Sam” replaces the head coach at Elland Road Javi Garcia’s. The Spaniard has only been at the helm of Leeds for 2.5 months. The club has not yet confirmed the sackings or the hiring of Allardyce.
If the information from The Times holds true, Allardyce will become Leeds’ fourth manager this season. In addition to Garcia, the Leeds ship has been steered this season Jesse Marsch and Michael Skubala.
Allardyce was last seen in the Premier League in the 2020-2021 season when he was in charge of West Bromwich Albion. Mies left the team at the end of the season, when it fell down the league ladder.
In addition to WBA, Allardyce has also managed Bolton, Blackburn, West Ham, Sunderland, Crystal Palace and Everton in the Premier League.
