Students from the Santa Mónica female college confess to being afraid of the behavior of the Elías Ahuja inmates
Several students from the center had downplayed the ‘show’ of the schoolboys
The video of the macho chants of the residents of the Elias Ahuja Residence Hall that went viral yesterday continues to give what to talk about on social networks. After the hangover, residents of the Colegio Mayor Santa Mónica have taken the floor who, unlike other colleagues, have shown outraged for what happened, and they have confessed to feeling concern and fear at the behavior of their neighbors. “If they organize this like this I don’t want to imagine what they will do when they have a few too many drinks, who tells me not to join forces for something worse” declared one of the schoolgirls.
Other residents have lamented that their colleagues do not want to get wet on the subject or that they downplay it. “It makes me very impotence. They think it’s something we have to put up with, that it’s a joke. What kind of joke is it? I don’t understand it and I don’t like it at all. How long will we have to put up with this?“, reported one of the residents.
The day the events were revealed, a group of young people downplayed the video and considered that it had been taken out of context. “It has been given a lot of hype” they said, alleging that it is “a bite“traditional existing between both schools, and that they did not feel victimized or offended.
One of the young women from the Santa Mónica Residence Hall speaks: “Irene Montero called to inquire about us, thinking that we were offended by the chants. As soon as we told her that it was not at all, that they were all our friends and that she was ready, she hung up on us rudely “. pic.twitter.com/oD3VGrtkYu

At the Colegio Mayor Elías Ahuja, not all the students were involved in the chauvinist chants. Two resident students of the same center have declared feeling “ashamed” at the behavior of their classmates and have confessed that on Sunday, when the events occurred, they had no record of the planning of the choreography.

In fact, these behaviors are nothing new. According to Fountain RoseVice Chancellor of the Complutense University of Madrid, these practices, which he classifies as execrable, “continue to be rooted” and comments that they are doing a lot of work to eradicate them. Without going any further, this 2022-23 academic year, the UCM presented a anti hazing program and for integration. De la Fuente also explains that from the university they not only intend to admonish offenders, but also to rebuild coexistence among students.

The vice-chancellor also emphasizes that the CM Elías Ahuja has an independent internal organization, but that it is a center attached to the university that involves the entire community. For now, the party in the weathers, mentioned in the viral video in which the boy said that they were going to “fuck all” the residents of Santa Monica, can be suspended by the rectorate as an “exemplary punishment”. The capea is one of the spaces shared by both schools and said party was supposedly going to be celebrated by both the residents of the male college and those of the female college.
