Draft, damp and mould: for years residents of a flat on the Alkmaarse Jongkindlaan have had the feeling that they are not taken seriously by Woonwaard. That is why the residents’ committee handed over a photo collage and a survey to the housing association.
“It’s not normal anymore,” says a resident of the flat, pointing to large mold spots in his bathroom. “This is so unhealthy. I don’t know where it comes from, but it just can’t go on any longer,” he tells media partner Alkmaar Central.
The SP stands up for the residents after Member of Parliament Renske Leijten visited the neighborhood in February. For example, the party organized a meeting last week and a residents’ committee was established.
Sebastiaan Noor is a member of the committee and believes it is time for a joint approach. “There are people who have had contact with Woonwaard, but the problems are downplayed. This problem must be properly investigated.”
The survey and photo collage with photos of mold and damp spots in homes has been handed over to property manager Cornel de Koster. In his own words, he is ‘quite happy’ with it: “Because we now have more information and there is a residents’ committee, we can start the conversation to regain trust.”
