Although heavily armed police officers were involved in the operation on Karl-Marx-Strasse, almost 15 people ganged up and insulted the officers.

There were no violent attacks. But several people yelled down from balconies: “Disguise yourselves quickly, so that mum doesn’t feel ashamed.” And: “We hate armed clans.” The police were obviously meant… And the mob kept mobbing: “Get out, get out.”

A police officer on the BZ: “It’s bad enough that there are always attacks on radio patrol car crews.”

He emphasizes: “The fact that there is no longer any respect when Berlin’s toughest police officers are on site speaks for the social development in this city.”

What was the mission about? The police caught an intensive offender who is said to be a Serb or Bosnian. The forces struck at lightning speed. According to BZ information, the man is accused, among other things, of trading in weapons. The man is currently in deportation custody at BER Airport.
