Residents cannot yet return to De Lovie after a fire

Care institution De Lovie for people with a disability had hoped to return at the end of this week, after a fire broke out a week and a half ago. No one was injured then.

A number of essential inspections must first be carried out, including electricity, lifts and fire detection. “It’s a pity, but safety obviously comes first,” says Birgit Provoost.

Reception locations

In the meantime, all residents are staying at temporary reception locations. Both in their own homes and in the various residential care centers in the area. “The emergency shelter is currently insured until September 15. If feasible, we will of course move back earlier.”

“All residents are doing well.” Tomorrow evening there will be an information and discussion moment for family and administrators.
