Residential shopping complex is ‘cinema hit’ in Klazienaveen

A new-build plan that attracts full halls? This was literally the case in Klazienaveen yesterday afternoon. Project developer Jaap ten Hoor and supermarket chain ALDI presented their plans for the Bruin Goud residential shopping complex on Dordsedijk in the Astra cinema.

Invited local residents were able to get an impression of the new-build project from the cinema seats on the silver screen. A frequently heard sound during that afternoon: glad that the impoverished mess at the planned location is finally disappearing.

The current site currently houses an old petrol pump and the (former) accommodations of home furnishings store Heine, installation company TWI and painting company Dekker. A private home is also part of the plan area. The place is known as a rotten tooth that will be definitively pulled with the arrival of Brown Gold (below the new Aldi and 23 apartments above it).

Flashing video

Visitors to the presentation were presented with a flashing film, including swelling violins, with impressions of the atmosphere and old images of the Klazienaveen of the past. According to Ten Hoor, also present that afternoon, you can speak of a reasonable cinema hit.

“Before we opened the doors, dozens of people were already standing at the door.” By the end of the afternoon he counted a hundred forgiven cups of coffee.
