Residential complex with more than 100 apartments causes commotion: “Iron tower will no longer be clearly visible”

About 25 objections have been filed against it. A project developer wants to build more than 100 residential units, spread over ten modern apartment blocks. There is resistance to the high-rise buildings, others fear that the Yser Tower will no longer be clearly visible. In addition, two landowners have not yet sold their plot.

During the public inquiry, 3 individual and one collective objection were submitted, signed by 24 residents.

The construction project is part of a master plan that the city council approved two years ago. The project will soon pass the municipal spatial planning committee, after which the council of aldermen will have to make the decision.
