Resident Akersloot has been arrested during police raid on business premises De Boekel

The person who was arrested by the police during a raid on a company on the Boekel yesterday comes from Akersloot. It now also appears that the research has a link with raids in other places in the Utrecht region.

The police reported this to NH Nieuws today. Falling around 6 a.m a police unit yesterday several buildings on the Kanaalweg, on the De Boekel business park. One person is then arrested inside.

The action seems to be mainly aimed at an outdoor lighting company, on the edge of the site, where everything is turned upside down for hours by dozens of police officers and detectives.

A police spokesperson says that this raid is part of an investigation by the North Holland and Central Netherlands police, which also included actions in Utrecht yesterday. Where those took place has not yet been announced.

Sources report that it is a so-called ‘blow day’. That means that after a longer investigation, according to the police, there is enough evidence for an arrest. And the ensuing raid may also provide new evidence.

The police do not want to say anything about what was searched for and whether anything was eventually found in Akersloot. It is also not known what the arrested Akersloter is suspected of. He’s still stuck.

‘Doors rolled through’

In addition to the building in the images above, another building was also violently raided by the police at the back of the block on the Boekel yesterday – the windows of the front door are shattered and a connecting door inside has been kicked in.

“They just rolled through this, while an employee was just present,” the owner of the building said to NH Nieuws. He turns out to have absolutely nothing to do with the criminal investigation at his neighbor.

He is frustrated that his company has been so damaged by the police and that his name may be compromised. “I’ve worked for this for years, built up a network for years.”

Inquiries about this with the police lead to the response that ‘indeed nothing was found’ at a property where a search was carried out, but ‘but there is damage’. And that the owner does not have to pay for the damage himself.
