The practice match between the reserves of Ajax and Hannover 96 ended in a deception for the Amsterdam team. The club from the second Bundesliga was too strong 3-0 in Cádiz, Spain. The match had two thirty-minute halves.
John van ‘t Schip chose to include Géronimo Rulli and Ahmetcan Kaplan on Saturday. Both players returned with an injury. Remarkably, Kaplan was not in the center of the defense, but at 6. It is clear that Ajax is eagerly looking for an experienced midfielder to fill that position for the defense.
The Germans took the lead early on. Rulli was able to save the first two shots, but Julian Börner’s effort proved supreme. In the first half it was mainly thanks to the Argentinian goalkeeper that the score remained 1-0.

Within fifteen minutes of the short break, Hannover struck twice more. Havard Nielsen first sent in a cross from close range, after which Muhammed Damar poured even more salt into Ajax’s wounds: 3-0. In the final phase, Amourricho was given another opportunity by Axel Dongen. His effort went wide, making it a painful defeat.
John van ‘t Schip’s intended starting eleven will come into action tomorrow afternoon from 1 p.m. They will then also play a practice match against Hannover 96. Go Ahead Eagles will be Ajax’s first opponent of the second half of the season on Sunday, January 14.
