Research: young women dependent on sex toys during sex | Domestic

Young women are very dependent on sex toys during sex, according to research One today in collaboration with 3FM. When young women use a sex toy during sex, or when they masturbate, they are more likely to have an orgasm.

More than 3,340 young people, both men and women, were asked about their sex lives. This shows that women orgasm more often when they use a device during sex or when they masturbate. With all other forms of sex, women are more likely to fail to ejaculate.

Three-quarters of young women own a sex toy, and 80 percent of them say they have orgasms more often since using one. The most popular toys are the vibrator and the Satisfyer. Among men, 45 percent have a sex toy.

Orgasm gap

Out the same research shows that the orgasm gap between young men and women has widened over the past two years. In various forms of sex, men reached orgasm more often than women. 89 percent of men usually experience an orgasm during penetration, compared to 22 percent of women. Two years ago, ‘still’ 36 percent of women came from penetrative sex. Among men, this was 92 percent two years ago. There is also a big difference between the two when it comes to oral sex and manual stimulation.

The research also shows that more than half of women occasionally fake an orgasm. They do this because they do not want to make their partner insecure or to ‘get rid of it’. Half of the men surveyed also say that they become insecure if they are unable to get their bed partner to climax.

Finally, it appears that young people have started talking less about sex in the past two years. Women in particular talk less about it. What they like during sex was discussed by 54 percent in 2022, now it is 42 percent. There is also less talk about orgasms and sex toys. The reasons for this are that they find it (too) personal or still experience it as a taboo.
