Research: ‘Improvements in birth care were reversed in one fell swoop by the pandemic’

In March 2020, the world looked different at a rapid pace. Many people were affected by the measures in healthcare, including pregnant women and women who have recently given birth. In many European countries, the burden that expectant and new mothers have borne because of these measures has been ‘disproportionately great’, says a group of researchers in maternity care. The Netherlands was an exception to that.
