Rescuers of the fire brigade attacked during a storm operation – arrest!

According to initial police investigations, emergency services from the Berlin fire brigade were on duty on Saturday at around 2.30 a.m. on Kreutzwaldstrasse in Kladow.

They were about to cut a fallen tree on the roadway with a chainsaw in order to then clear it off the road. A 50-year-old accompanied by another man (30) is said to have arrived in a taxi. He had to get out of the taxi because of the fallen tree.

According to the police, the man, who was obviously drunk, is said to have stumbled against the fireman who was working with the chainsaw when he tried to climb over the tree. “Fortunately, the chainsaw was briefly out of action at the time,” police said.

Two officials from the Berlin fire brigade asked the 50-year-old in vain to leave the place and then led him out of the danger area. Now the 50-year-old is said to have “pushed a firefighter with full physical effort, so that he fell and injured his elbow”.

Officers managed to hold the man down until police arrived. The 50-year-old now has to answer for assaulting a firefighter.
