Resale program soon in Germany?

Zara wants to expand its resale program to the German market. Earlier this week, payment provider Stripe and the Spanish fashion chain announced their partnership for ‘Zara Pre-Owned’, and on Friday a spokesman for the fashion chain confirmed to FashionUnited that the program will be launched in Germany later this year.

‘Zara Pre-Owned’ launched in the UK last November. The program allows customers to sell and also buy used Zara clothing in a peer-to-peer process. However, worn clothing can also be repaired and donated. In England, the platform’s offering is integrated in the Zara stores, in the mobile app and on the e-commerce platform of the Inditex subsidiary, and it will probably be similar in Germany. In Germany, the platform, like other resale platforms, will use Stripe Connect to manage transactions between buyers and sellers, the payment provider announced on Monday.

Zara is not yet giving any precise information on the launch date, but in addition to expanding the program to Germany and France, “everything should be done” to implement ‘Zara Pre-Owned’ in Spain before the end of the year.
