In several places in Limburg there is flooding on Sunday due to the heavy rainfall.
So much rain has fallen in a short time that, for example, several streets have become flooded.
Rainfall
That is the case in Weert and Ell, among others, local news site reports WeertThe Craziest† In Weert, Limburglaan and Tromplaan, among others, were partly under water. In Ell there was more disturbance. The fire brigade had to come to the Sebastiaanstraat there because it was completely flooded.
Also in Roermond on the Delfstoffenweg, in Herkenbosch on the N570, in Horst and in Echt, a considerable amount of rainwater remained on the streets. In Arcen there was a different kind of nuisance: there the fire brigade had to clear a large fallen tree from the road on the Schans.

Events
On Sunday, several Limburg events also fell into the water. Due to weather conditions, the festivities surrounding the opening of Kasteelpark Nijenborgh in Weert, for example, have been moved to Monday evening. “Although the organization started the day full of optimism, a series of showers followed during the afternoon that transformed the newly sown grass into a swimming pool,” reports the organization of the event.
In Tienray, all efforts were made to ensure that the Gaellus Open Air festival could still take place. Around 13:00 the organization set up an extra tent so that the party could start an hour later. A pump was needed to empty the site.
Code yellow
The Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute (KNMI) has announced code yellow for the heavy showers with thunder until 19:00 on Sunday evening. “In the course of the evening and night, the showers from the south will decrease,” according to the institute.
The showers are also causing problems in other parts of the country, for example in East Brabant. Especially from the Eindhoven, Valkenswaard and Veldhoven areas, many reports are received by the police.
