Berlin (dpa) – According to media reports, soccer professional Krzysztof Piatek is about to say goodbye to Hertha BSC and return to Italy.
According to the “Gazzetta dello Sport” and the broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, the 26-year-old will initially switch to AC Florence on loan. The agreement between the attacker and the two clubs also provides for a purchase option of 15 million euros.
As Sky Sport Italia further reported, Piatak already arrived for the medical check by private plane from Berlin. “Am I happy? Yes, of course,” he said when he arrived.
Two years ago, Piatek moved to the German capital under the then Hertha coach Jürgen Klinsmann. The Berlin Bundesliga club paid 24 million euros to the traditional club AC Milan for the Polish striker.
At the beginning of this season, the center forward was initially out due to an ankle fracture. In the end he didn’t get beyond a substitute role and was actually more associated with his former club CFC Genoa. His contract with Hertha should be valid until June 30, 2025. For the capital city club he scored 13 goals in 58 appearances.
