Reporter Elly Smit will show us all the corners of the province in the coming days. Throughout the week, the radio program Op Tjak focuses on the Drenthepad. The path of 329 kilometers long will not be completely walked by Elly, daily she walks pieces of fifteen to twenty kilometers.
According to path coordinator Luc Schepers, the Drenthepad is not as popular as it should be. “The Pieterpad is much more popular, it’s starting to become a bit of a pilgrim’s path,” he explains. “While the Drenthepad is so beautiful. You pass through three different nature parks. That is unique.”
And so Elly has decided to walk part of the path. “It’s impossible to walk all the way in one week,” she laughs. Along the way she will be live on the radio at the normal Op Tjak moments. While walking the Drenthepad, she visits various places along the route. “I hope I will see beautiful nature and talk to many people.”
