Very sad for VfB, that would mean losing a face to youth work and it continues to show this trend, which absolutely doesn’t taste good..
Wehrle actually wanted so many with a stable smell in the club – but obviously his advisory staff around Lahm and Khedira, who are much more busy with the DFB and co., is more important to him than an actually sportingly relevant person like Nico Willig.
Unfortunately, being a VfB fan is currently more of a headache than fun
Regardless of the Wehrle issue, personnel policy and the sporting situation, I can absolutely understand it if Willig (want to) leave the club. Because apart from taking over the first team, he doesn’t have many perspectives at VfB. And even that won’t happen because his sponsors (particularly Hitz) are gone or decided against him when they were still in office … btw when he was in charge we ended up being relegated, even if it wasn’t he was … still not the best arguments. And even if he takes over from Labba from the next match day in order to keep him permanently, success is absolutely in the stars. So why not take the next step in men’s clothing from next season? I don’t understand that it then (presumably) has to be SCF II – it’s just youth work again – but it doesn’t hurt to look elsewhere. And then maybe returned to VfB as a proven coach
