Second most expensive RB access
Due to the upcoming departure of John Anthony Brooks, VfL Wolfsburg is apparently looking for a new central defender for the coming season. Maximilian Wöber from Red Bull Salzburg is said to have become the focus of the “wolves”. This is reported by theWolfsburg General Newspaper“.

It would fit that sports director Marcel Schäfer, according to information from “picture“ on Sunday at the game between Salzburg and Austria Vienna (5:0), in which the hosts made the ninth league title in a row perfect, to scout the 24-year-old personally, among other things. Born in Vienna, who still has a contract in Salzburg that runs until 2024, he has played 32 games so far this season and, with 2,649 minutes played, is the central defender with the most playing time in coach Matthias Jaissle’s team. After Xaver Schlager (24) and Marin Pongracic, Wöber would be the third professional to move from Salzburg to Wolfsburg in the past ten years. Central defender Pongracic will probably return to VfL after his loan at Borussia Dortmund. The 24-year-old only played sporadically at BVB and is reportedly not part of the Black and Yellow plans beyond the season. But fulfilling his contract in Wolfsburg until 2024 should be difficult according to his critical statements last November (to the news).
