Arsenal contract ends
Olympique Lyon apparently tried to bring back Alexandre Lacazette (30) from Arsenal during the past transfer phase. A report in the French sports daily “L’EquipeHowever, according to a change in winter for both the professional and his coach Mikel Arteta was “inconceivable”. After all, the attacker is a regular and has played 22 games so far this season (five goals/four assists). According to reports, the Ligue 1 club will try again next summer if Lacazette is available on a free transfer due to his expiring contract.

Whether the striker will actually leave the Gunners also depends on him, as the report speculates that the Londoners will soon be offered an extension. For the former France international, the time in the English capital could otherwise come to an end after five years after this season.
Lacazette moved to London in 2017 after 275 appearances with 129 goals and 43 assists for his training club – cost: 53 million euros, making Lacazette the second most expensive departure in the history of the orienteering club (to the overview). Due to bonus payments, he could even be on a par with record sales Tanguy Ndombélé (25). He returned to OL on loan from Tottenham Hotspur on Deadline Day.

While Ndombélé was not used at the “Spurs” recently and a transfer could therefore be realized, the situation at Lacazette looks different. The right foot is the number one striker under Arteta, who has only Eddie Nketiah (22) as another option for the center of attack. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (32), who fell out of favor after a “disciplinary offence”, left the club on the last day of the transfer for FC Barcelona, which is still a long time coming. Because of Aubameyang’s misconduct, the captain’s armband was passed on to Lacazette, who is fighting for a place in the European Cup with the Gunners.
