Clubs are getting closer
At the beginning of the week, Ryan Gravenberch (19) confirmed FC Bayern’s interest, who is said to have already submitted an offer to Ajax Amsterdam. So far, the transfer demands of the Dutch record champions were reportedly too high: the difference between the two clubs was around 10 million euros, which are now getting closer in terms of base transfer.

According to the daily newspaper “Telegraaf”, the Munich team has increased their offer by EUR 2 million and instead of the previous EUR 15 million they are now offering EUR 17 million as a fixed amount for the midfield talent, who is still under contract with the Eredivisie club until 2023. As before, bonuses could increase the amount to €25 million, which is still some way from the required €35 million. Nevertheless, the increase in the offer is to be understood as a good sign, the clubs are getting closer “in small steps”, it is said.

The “Bild” had mentioned similar sums on Tuesday and also wrote about confidence in both camps that the deal could be made perfect “very quickly”. Gravenberch comes from Ajax’s own youth and replaced Clarence Seedorf in 2018 as the youngest player in the club’s history. In the current season, the right-footed player under Erik ten Hag is part of the regular formation and has made 37 appearances (two goals, six assists).

FC Bayern, Juventus and Co. are courting Gravenberch
In addition to Bayern, Juventus Turin, among others, is said to have placed an offer of the same amount. However, Munich would have better cards with the U21 national player, who is no longer in contract negotiations with his youth club and had already ruled out a free transfer in 2023: “I played here all my youth. Ajax have always been good to me. I have a lot to thank the club for. Then I can’t leave on a free transfer. That won’t happen,” Gravenberch said in February.
