Medical check on Sunday
Ex-BVB professional Dan-Axel Zagadou (23) will probably remain in the Bundesliga. The French centre-back, who has been without a club since the end of his contract in Dortmund on June 30, is available according to the “table football” and the “Bild” newspaper before moving to VfB Stuttgart, where he is expected for a medical check-up on Sunday. VfB is without a win after seven matchdays and has been relegated.
Among the currently unsigned players who can be signed in the Bundesliga even after the transfer window closes in early September, Zagadou is one of the most valuable. He is also the only clubless player in the world with a market value of more than 2 million who is under the age of 25.
Arias, Rose & Co.: The most valuable free players
The Frenchman has made 95 appearances at BVB since 2017 and has missed 83 games due to injury. Dortmund took the former U21 national player from Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer – in 2020 he had his highest market value of 31.5 million euros. Since then, this has fallen steadily to currently EUR 9 million. At VfB, Zagadou would be the fifth central defender and would be one of the five most valuable players in the squad.
