Despite the ongoing insolvency proceedings, Sportscheck is sticking to reopening its branch in Bielefeld.
The store, which was the first location after Stuttgart to be equipped with the retail chain’s new “Future Retail” concept, will open on February 8th, Sportscheck confirmed at the request of FashionUnited. The industry magazine Textilwirtschaft had previously reported on the reopening.
“We are very pleased that we can now roll out our Future Retail Store concept to other locations after Stuttgart and present a completely new sports experience to our customers in Bielefeld,” said Sportscheck managing director Matthias Rucker.
The new concept from Sportscheck extends over 2,000 square meters on a total of three floors in Bielefeld and offers customers “authentic sports experiences”. The main focus of the concept is three components: advice, service and events, according to the statement. These aspects are implemented through a wide range of services, such as Click & Collect and personal shopping options. In terms of design, the sports retailer relies on materials such as terrazzo made from 100 percent recycled plastic.
However, it won’t stop at the reopening in Bielefeld, because the store concept will be rolled out at other Sportscheck locations in the coming months, says Rucker.
