After a complete renovation, INTERSPORT Voswinkel opened its doors to a new sports adventure world on around 900 m² in the Worms shopping center on March 31, 2022. With the focus categories running, fitness and outdoor and a 360° omnichannel approach, the sports shop creates a new shopping experience for everything to do with sports and health.
The renovation of the INTERSPORT Voswinkel sports shop in the WEP in Worms took almost four weeks. INTERSPORT Voswinkel in Worms focuses on the product range running, fitness and outdoor on around 900 m². The most well-known and well-known sports brands can be found in the extensive range of sports items. The offer is supplemented by the exclusive brands of INTERSPORT. These include the outdoor brand McKINLEY and the fitness brand ENERGETICS.
Shopping experience for sports and health
The new store offers customers a comprehensive shopping experience covering all aspects of sports and health, starting with a variety of products, their clearly structured presentation and competent specialist advice.
“We want to inspire our customers with our range, but also with our know-how and our consulting services,” says Matthias Brakhahn, branch manager of the INTERSPORT Voswinkel branch in Worms.

360° omnichannel approach and new store concept
The new shopfitting concept creates customer-friendly orientation by dividing it into the different worlds of experience: running, fitness and outdoor. Modern elements in the shopfitting, well thought-out color and lighting concepts as well as a completely revised customer guidance system with clear recognition of the sports topics underline the claim of clear customer orientation and also ensure a modern appearance.
A special highlight is the free dynamic measurement of the foot by innovative analysis systems. This is how customers find their ideal running or trekking shoe. A test track with different surfaces, ideal for trying out hiking boots, completes the range of services.
The new appearance of the sports shop also includes a much closer integration of the online and offline world. Last but not least, the Corona-related lockdown and the restart phase have had a lasting influence on shopping behavior in favor of digital preferences. The sales team of nine sports experts is equipped with tablets. In addition to the stationary offer, customers can also access the extensive online range of the INTERSPORT network and have the opportunity to order directly – at home or via click and collect for convenient pickup in the shop.
With the conversion in Worms, INTERSPORT Voswinkel continues the consistent modernization of the branch network. After a successful start last year, further renovations and reopenings are planned for 2022, including in Oldenburg and Bad Oeynhausen in summer 2022.
