Not many people noticed it until recently – after all, it is not on screen that often – but thanks to Renze Klamer himself we now all know: observant viewers are bothered by his strange socks. At least, he received an email about that from a viewer. And guess what? According to Renze’s own table guests, that angry viewer also has a point.
Black socks
Renze always wears short, black socks. Whatever color suit he wears. “I received comments about the socks recently. I always wear black socks, but people think that if I wear a brown suit, I should wear brown socks,” he says in the broadcast from last night.
A bit crazy, according to his table guest Antoinnette Scheulderman. “Is that superstition?”
Renze: “Those black socks? No, I just have black socks.”
Brown suit
That can indeed sometimes clash in terms of color, according to Antoinnette. “But if you have a brown suit, you never think: gosh, I’ll wear brown socks for once.”
Renze: “I never have that.”
Antoinette: “Or blue?”
Renze: “Do you have that?”
Small beer
Yes, answers Antoinette. “Yeah right. In my opinion, black socks should not be worn with a brown suit. I agreed with that complainer, although it is small beer.”

Antoinette: “Yes, they are certainly worse, but I don’t see Renze wearing that.”
Renze: “It just stays black. At first I thought: we’re going to change it, but I’m not going to do that.”
