Renze Klamer’s integration at RTL went incredibly quickly. The presenter has already reached the point that he would rather have Donny Roelvink than Pieter Omtzigt at his talk show table.
At the end of his career with the public broadcaster, Renze Klamer started flirting with the more light-hearted work: inappropriately and inappropriately he crawled behind the piano at De Vooravond. Peter or Donny?
As the Volkskrant asks him to choose between Pieter or Donny as a guest, he replies: “Normally I would say Pieter Omtzigt, because I follow politics. But I find something about the Roelvinkjes immensely interesting. You must be the son of Dries Roelvink.”
What on earth is interesting about that? “That raises all kinds of big life questions. Recently I had Donny as a guest, he said that he was busy with his identity, with the question of what role he actually has within such a media family. It’s not about teeth whitening.”

Roelvinkjes
It seems that Renze’s field of interest is moving up quite a bit. That would never be possible with public broadcasting. “Of course, the Roelvinkjes will not be seen on public broadcasting so quickly. On the other hand: at De Vooravond we also had the Jolings and the Gordons.”
He concludes: “As a talk show on a major channel, you have to be there for the full breadth of society. Many viewers are condescending about folk artists. But a good talk show is a combination of entertainment and journalism. Not just a wholemeal sandwich.”
