Things are not going well for Renze Klamer for the time being as talk show host of RTL 4. After his record low on Tuesday, he drops even further one evening later – so yesterday. This time through football.
Renze Klamer hops from viewing low to viewing low. He again set a record low last night with his talk show RENZE, this time because of the fierce competition with women’s football. 453 thousand people watched the talk show on RTL 4, good for a meager market share of only 11 percent.
An unbelievable amount of pain
It is quite spicy what Renze is now facing, says viewing figure expert Tina Nijkamp in her daily analysis. “Renze and Hart van Nederland are unbelievably affected by football, especially in the target group 20 to 54 years (respectively only 10.3 and 8.7 percent market share) and they also do not benefit from the lack of Op1.”
Due to women’s football and the cycling talk show De Avondetappe, there was no broadcast of Op1 this time.
‘It must be fresh’
Private star journalist Jan Uriot finds Renze too boring, he says in his column What does Jan think?. “I don’t see much change. It is announced in interviews as if the big change is coming, but I don’t see it. That is almost impossible, because he uses the same team of Humberto, Jinek and Beau.”
He continues: “These are the same people who are behind it and they have already received so much criticism, because there are always the same people at the table. Then you won’t get any change. You can see it in the ratings. They’re going down, aren’t they? I would put young people on it. They have fresh ideas. Putting a completely different team on it.”
Football on one
The women’s football match Netherlands – Portugal (3-2) was the big winner at prime time with 1.9 million viewers (43 percent) on NPO 1. On the other hand, De Slimste Mens also managed to set a top score, namely 1.6 million viewers (36 percent) on NPO 2.
The other most viewed titles on prime time were RTL 4’s B&B Vol Liefde with 651 thousand viewers (14 percent) on RTL 4, Nieuwsuur with 491 thousand viewers (11 percent) on NPO 2 and Bee Gees How Can You Mend A Broken Heart with 305. thousand viewers (7 percent) on NPO 3.
