Renze Klamer does not value Özcan Akyol’s opinion at all

Renze Klamer attaches absolutely no value to the spirited opinion that Özcan Akyol has expressed about him. “He is paid to occasionally say something sharp,” said the brand new RTL 4-star.

The time has come: Renze Klamer starts his daily talk show on RTL 4 tonight. He has given about twenty-six interviews about it in the past week, so it won’t be the publicity in any case. In one of those interviews, to De Telegraaf, the presenter gives a nice sneer to Özcan Akyol.

‘Renze? He can’t do anything!’

Özcan sawed off Renze at the ankles in Today Inside. “Renze Klamer? Ehm, yes, he can’t do anything,” said the TV maker bluntly. “She was sitting there next to Fidan and she had all the flair and charm. And Renze was there. He had to do the administration. You know, announcing: we’re going to go to the next item now, we’re going to do that now.”

Renze has a little too much confidence in herself, Özcan thinks. “I read that Renze said in the AD, in our newspaper: ‘Half the Netherlands talked about my departure.’ But then you can no longer put things into perspective if you think that half of the Netherlands is talking about your departure. Then you have started to believe in yourself a little too much.”

Paid opinion

What does Renze think of this hard sneer? Does that affect him? “No, I have learned: in life you have to choose whose opinion you value and Eus is not one of them. He is paid to occasionally say something sharp,” the presenter responds in The Telegraph

If Özcan is right, that does not bode well for Renze’s ratings. Has RTL’s TV boss Peter van der Vorst given him target figures? “No, in fact, I have been given a two-year contract and he has said that he will not judge me on the ratings in the month of July,” he said in the statement. AD

Crazy about Peter

Renze really likes that about Peter. He is already crazy about his boss. “That expresses confidence and that is very nice. At RTL I have direct contact with the person who actually decides.”

He is now done with the NPO. “As a presenter it is also nicer to work for a commercial broadcaster. The lines between the broadcasters who make the decisions are much shorter.”
