Renze Klamer demolished by Özcan Akyol: ‘He can’t do anything!’

Renze Klamer is completely demolished by TV colleague Özcan Akyol. The presenter of Sterren op het Doek is not at all impressed by him. “Renze Klamer? Um, yes, he can’t do anything.”

More than nine months after Renze Klamer was taken off the tube with his talk show De Vooravond, he makes the switch from public broadcasting to RTL 4. There he will present a late night show for a month in August and he may fill the rest of his time on the desk of RTL Boulevard.

Shelter

Johan Derksen reacted to the news yesterday in the talk show Today Inside. “They sent that Renze Klamer away then, but the boy who is there now (Khalid Kasem, ed.) is no better than Renze Klamer. And that girl who is sitting there now (Sophie Hilbrand, ed.) is no better than Fidan.”

Johan thinks that is a huge miss. “BNNVARA showed those people the door very rudely and that is why I am glad that Renze is now housed at RTL.”

‘He can’t do anything!’

Wilfred Genee: “A great talent?”

Johan: “Well, I don’t want to say that, but that boy does have the flair and the charisma. Look, he sat down to play the piano very theatrically and sing songs… Yeah, I don’t watch that at six o’clock, you know.”

Wilfred: “What do you think of him?”

Özcan deadly serious: “Renze Klamer? Um, yes, he can’t do anything.”

Administration

Renze is very interchangeable, says Özcan. “She was sitting there next to Fidan and she had all the flair and charm. And Renze was there, because Fidan can’t read an autocue. That can happen. I also find that very difficult – bad eyes. Fidan couldn’t time either. And Renze had to do the administration. He was there for that reason. You know, announcing: we’re going to go to the next item now, we’re going to do that now.

Johan: “If you do a duo, then they should complement each other, you know. Renze had little experience, he still had to learn that trade a bit, but I did think that he was getting better and better.”

overestimation

René van der Gijp: “It’s just a talent, you know, and if you don’t master it, you won’t master it.”

Wilfred: “But he says: ‘He can’t do anything.’”

Özcan: “He can read autocue and administration.”

No, Özcan doesn’t like Renze. He grossly overestimates himself, Özcan thinks. “I read that Renze said in the AD, in our newspaper, yesterday: ‘Half the Netherlands talked about my departure.’ But then you can no longer put things into perspective if you think that half of the Netherlands is talking about your departure. Then you have started to believe in yourself a little too much.”
