Renze Klamer says he is still bothered by Arie Boomsma supporters, who are angry about his skeptical attitude about nutritional supplements. “Seems like gospel!”
It caused quite a stir: Renze Klamer’s interview with dumbbell minister Arie Boomsma. According to Arie, it is very important to take all kinds of supplements – note: he also makes money from this – while according to Renze, in 98 percent of cases it is completely unnecessary to take all kinds of vitamins and minerals.
Angry at Renze
Renze has angered many of Arie’s supporters with his skeptical attitude about supplements; one of Arie’s buddies even started yelling at him very loudly.
Renze still receives angry messages from Arie supporters every day, he writes on Instagram. For example, a certain DJ Kickflip posts a photo of all his vitamins and minerals. He also writes: “Renze Klamer, come at me, baby brother.” It’s as if Renze doesn’t care at all that one DJ Kickflip does take vitamins and minerals.
Gospel
The number of responses Renze still receives every day is bizarre, he says. “Since my conversation with Arie Boomsma, it has been a lot of fun in my DM inbox with spreaders of the supplement gospel. I admire the enthusiasm!”
Quite a sneer from the RTL 4 presenter, because he also accuses Arie of spreading a ‘supplement gospel’. Renze seems to have consciously chosen this name, because Arie is known as a rather pious type. His father was a preacher.
“Your wallet!”
Has Renze already changed his opinion? No. And if people want to take vitamins, he says they should do so. “Fine, it’s your wallet, not mine. And in most cases the use is not harmful.”
He concludes: “As long as you know that the scientific consensus is that 98 percent of people do not need supplements, and as a supplement user you are most likely helping the manufacturers a lot more (🤑🤑) than your own body.”
