Renze Klamer causes cake doubts, long Friday VI is not convincing

Renze Klamer is causing cake doubts with the viewing figures of his new TV show Het Unknown: Tina Nijkamp thinks it is cause for cake, but Joost Maiburg does not.

The celebrity who refreshed the viewing figures page most often this morning is Renze Klamer. The talk show host turns out to be a jack of all trades at RTL 4 and is now suddenly also an entertainment presenter. His new TV show The Unknown started yesterday with 794 thousand viewers (16.5 percent market share); a reasonable score.

Pie doubt

TV stars who score high ratings always get cream pie delivered for some reason, but these numbers cause cake doubt. Does Renze get a cake for this or not? Opinions are divided.

Joost Maiburg, the viewing figure connoisseur of RTL Boulevard, does not think so. He writes: “The Unknown starts reasonably in 9th place with just under 800 thousand viewers. In the commercial target group aged 25 to 54, the program has a good market share of 24.1 percent. So no viewing hangover for Renze, who had his birthday yesterday, but no cake yet either.”

‘Yes cake!’

According to viewing figure professor Tina Nijkamp, there is cake in it. She speaks of a ‘solid start’. “Renze Klamer will be VERY relieved, RTL 4 too: these are ok figures for a first episode. Because it is certain that Renze, Peter van der Vorst and the program team were very tense about these figures. A lot depends on it.”

Both RTL 4 and Renze could use a success at the moment, says Tina. “So think that the baker will be called for whipped cream cake. Next week will be just as exciting, because will the program hold the viewer or will the viewer drop out? Whether it will be barbecue weather will also be important.”

Not a big flop

Joost is also curious about this: “Next week in particular will be very exciting: will it rise or fall? The Unknown scored lower than the Traitors, which attracted an average of 1,043,000 viewers in recent weeks.”

Tina: “In any case, a lot will depend on how the postponement is viewed. It is almost certain that this program can no longer flop badly, such as Alles is Muziek or Interior Project VIPS. The figures of this first episode are much too good for that. Whether it will be a real success, we will know next week.”

Friday VI

SBS 6 managed to beat RTL 4 with the extra long Friday VI, which scored 810 thousand viewers (19 percent). As far as Tina is concerned, Today Inside is a bit disappointing on this broadcast evening. “It is slightly less than what the program normally scores. In 20 to 54 years 14.8 percent. That is also lower than the other most evenings.”

She continues: “Has this been worth the wrangling (René had objections) behind the scenes? Mwoah. Not really. If Mr. Frank Visser had been in the replay from 8.30 pm to 9.30 pm, that would probably have scored around double that of the Comes A Man Bij De Dokter and VI would have scored just a little higher, so that would probably have yielded just a little more profit.”
