Rental platform Hirestreet joins forces with Marks & Spencer

The British rental platform for fashion, Hirestreet, has launched its largest cooperation with a retail company to date, Marks & Spencer.

The Spring Collection is Marks & Spencer’s second offering on the platform and features 40 new season womenswear items from M&S Collection as well as in-house brands Autograph and Per Una.

The second offer also includes new product categories such as trousers and jackets. It kicked off with 16 looks last week, followed by new styles to be launched later this season.

“The popularity of Marks & Spencer clothing, with many garments suitable for every occasion, shows how the future of rental is changing – today rental is more than just a passing gateway to designer pieces,” said Rosie Hartman, Head of Strategy at Hirestreet.

According to Hirestreet, Marks & Spencer is the platform’s most popular brand for a “bundle” where customers can choose three different outfits for a 30-day rental for £50. A quarter of all “bundle” orders included a Marks & Spencer product, according to the platform.

“We know that customers are increasingly interested in circular economy and rental, which is why we began our exciting partnership with Hirestreet last year,” said Richard Price, general manager of apparel and homeware at Marks & Spencer.

He reports that the feedback from Hirestreet users so far has been “great”.
