D66 Member of Parliament Rens Raemakers from Neer is back at work.

In mid-October last year, Raemakers (30) went on sick leave for health reasons. Earlier in 2020 he had been sick at home for a while due to a burnout.

Urgent advice
In October, he said in a statement that it was difficult for him to choose again for a period of sick leave. But given the urgent advice of the doctors, he then stated that he had no other option. “You should always put health first. I will focus on a sustainable and safe recovery,” Raemakers said in October.
That restore is now complete. He announced on Twitter that he had returned to the House of Representatives.

He will focus on youth care, mental health care, sheltered housing and social care and social service. Raemakers entered the House of Representatives in 2017 and was then the youngest member of parliament. He was re-elected in March 2021.
