The Government is still waiting for Adif to clarify the causes of the incident that has left the southern branch of the R2 lame, it maintains the pulse to obtain the full transfer of powers linked to rail transport and this Wednesday it has announced that it could penalize Renfe with up to one million euros for the chaos of trains caused these days south of Barcelona. The public operator, which depends on the Ministry of Transporthas regretted having learned the news through the media and has denounced being the victim of a “continuous offensive“.
The announcement was made by the ‘conseller’ of Territories, Juli Fenandez, during a morning interview on TV3, in which he blamed the State for all the evils of Rodalies. “If the government does not want to assume its responsibilitieswe are willing to assume all of them”, he assured.
He has denied that it is an issue that has entered the electoral campaign, recalling that these are “problems that are experienced daily and that are part of everyday life.” Being Adif -which also depends on the Government- the owner of the infrastructure, responsible for a large part of the incidents, Renfe is the recipient of the main complaints and the protagonist of this disciplinary file by the Catalan Consumer Agencywhich imputes to Renfe unfair trade practices and breach of consumer service obligations.

The operator, for his part, ensures that the collaboration “is always maximum with the owner of the service (in full intentional reference to the Generalitat), despite the continuous offensive that is being carried out against the company”.
